The Rolling Stones loved a Tequila Sunrise.  The Eagles sang about it. The Tequila Sunrise was not meant to be a morning brunch cocktail.  However, if we make one small modification to the original recipe, the addition of sparkling wine, it becomes a non-traditional, but delicious, morning mimosa. Today, skip the traditional morning mimosa and try a Tequila Sunrise Mimosa with brunch.

Ingredients

  • 1 ounce of tequila
  • 3 ounces of sparkling wine (Champagne, Prosecco, Cava, etc.)
  • 2 ounces of Orange Juice
  • A Splash of Grenadine

Directions

  1. In a Champagne glass, coffee mug, red solo cup, or any other container you prefer, pour 1 ounce of tequila
  2. In that same container, pour 3 ounces of your favorite sparkling wine
  3. In that same container, pour 2 ounces of orange juice
  4. Add a splash of grenadine
  5. If you want to make it fancy, garnish the cup with an orange wedge
  6. Drink and Enjoy
